Resurrection so I don’t have to start a new thread, about to pick up my 2002 bug eye with a 207 bottom end (205 heads, inlet mani etc)
Amongst other things such as a going over by galvsport, re-doing the brakes as they are a bit shitty and a few other bits and pieces performance wise I am thinking:- VF22 turbo Link ecu (cos its free) Pink top injectors Warlbro pump Process west or sti top mount Chasing 300whpish on 98 Already has a turbo back exhaust. How will the standard 5 speed enjoy 300whp, the overall plan is to go a sti 6 speed, however not for a bit. God damn it’s a long time since I looked at WRX’s, I feel my knowledge has been replaced with RB28s and GTRs

VF34/p20 would be a better choice!
I'm running 310hp on a 5 speed (have been for 3 years) - mechanical sympathy rules!

As above. Like Ross, I also run a 5 speed with very similar numbers getting pushed through it. If you drive it without trying to break it, you won't.

TD05 is a journal bearing while the VF is a ball bearing. VF will spool better.

The VF22 spool up characteristics can be significantly reduced by modifying the wastegate , so that it does not open prematurely.
Apparently the spring in the actuator cracks open the wastegate at <7 psi. I have been running an external helper spring 10lb and that preloads the wastegate ,resulting in the wastegate remaining firmly shut during spool up. I have not changed the original Link ecu map after this mod. The car now accelerates very aggressively. |

Hey Guys,
Can anyone elaborate on the following Turbo's below. Differences as in when boost kicks in etc. I know the VF43 is standard on the MY06/07 STi but would a VF48 be a better option over the VF43 on a MY06 STi nowadays? Also is the VF48 a direct fit to the MY06 STI. VF43 TB, PZ18 ex.h/47.9mm c.h/9b c.w/0.63 A/R - OZ/US MY06-07 STi VF48 TB, PZ?? - OZ/US MY08+ STi Cheers
