Hi all,

Just quickly, I am trying to trouble shoot my new purchase (JDM 97/98 WRX) - The engine light is on, the error code is 24 - the idle air control valve.

Now, do i just replace the valve and monitor or should i clean it first,replace the gasket and monitor?

Could anything else be causing this error?

I've reset the ecu a few times, it goes away for a bit and drives freely. It seems to come on for no apparent reason, I could be boosting or just cruising on the highway....

Car is pretty standard, has a 3" exhaust and EBC...

Get some upper engine cleaner from Subaru and give it a good clean. Might help

Will do, thanks. I am thinking if need be i'll replace the gasket too
