Have Trust cooler and Mocal oil-stat on mine as it's still a streeter with track days on the cards, Just spend the right cash, seal it properly and add it to the list of things to monitor, Shauld have no probs, For track duties any extra protection agianst toasting oil is a good idea.

Stay away from eBay coolers, the piping does tend to leak onto the hot manifold. I would buy a pwr cooler and get the lines made up buy piretek or something, also don't forget to get a thermo stat or the oil won't reach it's proper operating temp in the winter

I ran a Process West oil cooler on my MY05 for over a year no issues. Didn't notice many gains tbh, and you have to watch the initial warm up period. Saying that, I never ran laps or logging at that time to say there was/wasn't a gain.
People are referring to the firey death of my car after ASG installed the FMIC, headers and motec. Some people think the oil cooler was the cause of the fire. If you do go for one, I would ensure it has braided lines (to stop the rubber lines melting on headers) and a thermostat (for initial running). But before doing it, I would log and make sure you really need it before going down that path. |
yep, the haltech has on board logging which will be enabled for the no limits night next week.
thanks for the help guys. Craig |
