New CV Joint
Hey all, just want some advice / opinion.
Need to replace my RHF outter CV joint, would you replace it with a genuine Subaru part or just aftermarket? If aftermarket is there any particular brands? Have an 05 STI with minor mods / daily driven. Cheers Paul |
are you replacing the whole joint or just the rubber boot?
i would use genuine parts if doing the boot and clips, grease etc if its the whole joint try getting a 2nd hand driveshaft |
Phone outer control in Myaree they will supply you with what you need
|
Yeah require new joint, assume outer control CV's are strong enough? Do you know what grease is used to lube it up?
|

Yes we use outer control all the time and have never had a problem with their joints
|
Oh and use Subaru genuine cv grease, out control can supply grease also
|
If outa control can't do it, allan's cv's in Osbourne Pk will help. Can rebuild old. We had hells own trouble sourcing cv for 06 Sti. Not one spare in Oz. These guys sorted it for us.

What's so good about genuine Subaru CV grease? (am I missing something? It appears to be normal Moly DiSulphide you can get anywhere???) |
i never said anything about it being better than anything else on the market, it was just a suggestion
