Default Spacers

I have a problem.

I bought some wheels for my car and just realised they need spacers to fit on the front (standard 4-pot WRX brakes).

The tyre shop won't fit the wheels/spacers as they are apparently illegal....is this the case?

Anyone currently have them on their cars? Any problems with warranty/insurance etc.?

Thanks for your help guys!

Totally illegal - tho heaps of people fit them.

I think you can get them from repco, coventrys, supercheap, etc

Yeah pretty much if you get into a crash and insurance finds anything illegal or something that's not covered in your insurance then it's VOID and you'll have too $$$$$$

depends on the style of spacer too

if you get the normal spacers from super crap, ye they're illegal, they also don't have CBL rings etc, and are dodge..

the spacers you can buy which you bolt onto the hub using the original wheel studs, and then have a second set of studs built into the spacer you will find the pits/police will most likely accept, as they don't put reduce the amount of thread turns your wheel nut is using to hold the wheel on..

ive seen a couple of cars with spacers loose wheels as there has only been 4-5 turns of thread left after they put the spacer on, this ain't enuf..

I ran spacers on my wheels for my soarer and it was fine.
If you are worried about insurance gonging your policy in the event of an accident, just tell them that you have them and list them as a mod.

If you are with RAC this wont be a problem.

Thanks guys.

I'm currently trying to get a refund but it looks like its going to be a battle, so we'll see how it turns out.....might have to use the spacers in the end.
