Default GC8 1998 WRX Springs stock or low???

Hey Guys

The Wrx I resently bought has at some stage been lowered (yellow springs maybe king springs dont know) but the ride is rough as hell if you hit any road changes, and hard to get into driveways due to height ( front bumper and side skirt damaged by previous owner due to this).

My sister has a same model stock WRX and height difference is huge.

is it worth going back to stock or grit the cons and stay lowered?

I think its only the springs, i think the struts are the stock ones.

how hard would it be to track down stock springs or will the struts have to be changed to due to using of the lowered springs?

Does anyone have an idea how much it will cost to get them changed?

Whole strut assembly change looks easier to change then trying to change only the springs

change the whole strut assembly, lowered springs 100% of the time ruin standard struts.

look for some STI struts and springs from a GC8, or some GDB 01-04 STI struts and springs, which will fit with only minor modifications to the rear strut mounts.

On the topic of STi GC8 suspension.

You can buy OEM STi lowered springs for a GC8. How do these perform over the standard ride height STi springs? Also being OEM do you get any benefits from the factory lowered springs? Or they more for the cosmetic look.

Optional pink springs are lower than the factory items on an sti.

I personally wouldn't bother with a GC8. If they are original struts they are at least 13 years old now and shagged to all hell. Either invest in a new strut/spring combo or a set of coilovers. Decent coilovers can be had for ~$1k.
