Default Problems at the pump

Hey guys i just went to fill up the newly purchased MY00 STI.

I was trying to put the fuel in but it didnt want to happen!

I tried two different pumps and it just keeps clicking like its full..

I eventually turned the pump handle sideways and managed to hold it just right and get a full tank..

Any idea's whats going on guys? random fluke or?

Thanks.

used to happen to my 98 all the time, u almost gotta have it hanging out, or it at least feels like it, kinda annoying until u learn where the spot is.

yer i've noticed this also i first time i just half engaged the pump, waited like 2 mins for 5 liters and thought fuk that, then simply wriggled it up and down a bit then it worked sweet as. sort of lifted it up and pushed it down no idea why it did that, same thing on my old type-r tegra. is it a 98ron pump saftey feature??

I used to have to hold mine half out too, it seems to be just a WRX thing.

yeah happens to me sometimes too, not all the time, happened in my previous wrx and i think also in my pulsar before that, usually only when empty its the worse.

hold it 90 degrees to the right, the the plastic pience protects your paint and you can get it 90% in.
