Mine has a cut out that turns off the power after the window has closed.
I think the time is about 0.2 seconds.
Full power for 10 secs will not burn out the motor.
Start to panic if the time from fully closed while power is on is above 20 minutes,
or you smell burning.

Go for window closure units that are Australian designed, brands like Cyclops and Autowatch are your best bet.
