well if it works out the same cost, why not go for the later model manifold... you know, backwards

hmm speak to me

im assuming later model manifolds allow me to reverse it alot easier... and reduce the 3km of piping i currently have... as well as rotating the turbo housing. Already have no air con, and no intention or desire to add any. Piping it average and needs to be redone as it is, so might be perfect excuse.

Remember subi's to me are like nissans to alot of you. So I apologise for the 16 year old newb spec questions.

well from my understanding (but wait for stace to reply, as he has actually done it) and holding a bugeye manifold in my hands on sunday:

pre bug the manifold isnt symetrical, and requires 2 manifolds to be chopped & bashed together to reverse it, bug+ you simply unbolt it and turn it around, then the pipe faces forwards. that takes out the fmic loop and allows a more direct path to the end tank.

From what i gather you can rotate a turbo regardless of the manifold being rotated, giving a smoother entry into the turbo, and a better angle for the exhaust gases.

just thinking about it a little more, i think you may be stuck with the earlier manifolds as pre99 heads dont allow symetrical manifolds to be fitted.
your best option is to source yellow top V3 sti injectors which are 440cc and a direct fit for the earlier manifolds, post98 manifolds and injectors are not compatible.
for 99 onwards motors, you can reverse both my99/00 and my01+ manifolds, the 99/00 varients require removal of AC, yet my01+ manifolds allow a strategic rotation of the plenum while leaving the injector/tgv's on the block plus with a bracket modification you could keep the a/c.
