Simple google mate haha :

2005-2009 = The fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank with the fuel pump

Part Number for 04-06 WRX/STi's is 42072FE020
Part Number for '07 STi's is 42072FE030
Part Number for 08+ STi's is 42072AG140

Better yet here's a Link with instructions. According to what I have read, shouldn't really need changing until Major Service at 100k km's :D

thnx. the thing is i used a different brand of octane boost than i usually use (I dont have 98ron where im from) now my car suddenly cuts out and after i give it a rest i can start it up again. sometimes it just get jerky. after flushing the fuel it still has this problem.

my old man flushed the fuel and he said it seems like the octane i used didnt mixed in with the fuel. now im thinking it could be the fuel filter thats the issue.

what do you guys think?

Sounds like symptoms of BRANT to be honest..Search BRANT issues.. I myself experienced similar symptoms until I had mine looked at by my mechanic. I thought it was the Fuel Pump or something that was causing it until I was shown the exact symptom demonstrated & replicated in front of me, which turned out to be that of the joys of BRANT. The part that failed for me was the fuel cut situation where "ANTI-HIJACK" was engaged erroneously.

A Very well known issues. Best to have a Subaru Specialist or Subaru Investigate, Fix & or remove/replace.
