Problems starting 2005 WRX
I turn the key, input the 4 digit alarm code, start the car and nothing. The dash light come on, the radio plays but no ignition... Nothing!
Mechanics have told me it's a battery problem. I got a new battery, problem still there. Now they have told me I need a new alarm module... At a price of 700 something. I went some where else and they said to check the ground wire or solenoids first... Someone else said they've never heard of the problem before. Can anyone give a heads up? Heard of this / seen this / had this happen to you before? What did you do? Cheers |
Can you hear the fuel pump prime etc and general engine bay noise to suggest it should start after putting you're pin in ?

Consider crank angle sensors which are prone to failure due to heat soak.
You may want to get someone with a ECU scanner to look for any fault codes. |
An alarm by pass can be done if you want the problem permanently solved
