Exclamation Problems starting 2005 WRX

I turn the key, input the 4 digit alarm code, start the car and nothing. The dash light come on, the radio plays but no ignition... Nothing!

Mechanics have told me it's a battery problem. I got a new battery, problem still there. Now they have told me I need a new alarm module... At a price of 700 something. I went some where else and they said to check the ground wire or solenoids first... Someone else said they've never heard of the problem before.

Can anyone give a heads up? Heard of this / seen this / had this happen to you before? What did you do?

Cheers

Can you hear the fuel pump prime etc and general engine bay noise to suggest it should start after putting you're pin in ?

Consider crank angle sensors which are prone to failure due to heat soak.

You may want to get someone with a ECU scanner to look for any fault codes.

An alarm by pass can be done if you want the problem permanently solved
