Default MY99 WRX O2 Sensor?

Hey Guys

I'm needing to purchase a new O2 sensor for my MY99 WRX. Subaru are very pricey. Can I go with an alternative O2 sensor for my car and if so how much will it set me back? Or is there somewhere I can buy the OEM at a much better price? If you know of a cheaper option it would be much appreciated!

Cheers

I got a new Bosch one from Coventrys or Covs, whatever it is called now, for $110 last week, they had heaps in stock.
It was a universal 3 wire, so you have to swap the plug on it.
Subaru wanted $465,
Repco didn't get back to me,
Supercheap didn't know what it was!

^^from an earlier thread.... you may need to swap the pins into your existing plug, easy task, don't cut & solder, the wires need heaps of heat to get the solder to stick apparently

The reason we replaced it is due to a turbo/power steering fire at the last rally, the next rally is next weekend up at Mundaring. We took it for a drive on Saturday, and all seems well, so fingers crossed.
The kit came with a new plug which we crimped onto the loom, as all of the plugs in the area (o2,and gearbox) were burnt/melted in the fire.
