Default Gearbox Rebuilder

So the gearbox in Suzanna's gc8 is doing its best impersonation of a cement mixer when placed in third.

I'm not keen to buy a second hand box.

Who would you recommend to rebuild this 3.9 aussie box.

I think I would be looking at renewing all syncros and third gear.

Third and fourth are a pair. They can be economic to repair if the debris hasn't damaged anything else on the way through. Stop driving it, don't even tow it except on a flat bed.
I have some new genuine Subaru 3/4 gearsets but there are two revisions and a few variations depending on whether it's been apart before and the era of the box.

3hrs

I think that is decent

cleatly im not as good at Scary the resident F1 pit crew chief.

That's about right for a DIY on the ground. Half hour box changes are on cars with no heat shields, quick release exhaust and clutch and 3+ well trained rally mechanics on the job.
