My question for both of you is: what gearbox are you running? Stock RX/WRX or STI?

They say if youre running a WRX (or lesser) gearbox to stick with an OEM clutch, to save the stock gearbox, to let the clutch be the point that gives (and not 2nd gear). WRX gearboxs are known to pop when given some stick.

Keen to hear what youre both running...
My old RX box would've broken on the first hard launch :p
My current one is a 4.44 Matt but I am not sure if it's from a WRX or STI...I originally thought it was an RA box but as discussed on here previously the revs at certain speeds don't match that of an RA :/

Have run 3 of these bad boys in my old 5 speed in a 10 year old car. 5 speed box finally retired to the gearbox heaven. I then ran one in the 6 speed and the clutch died after a season of rally sprints from me. Now I am running a Jim berry special 6puck and still to kill this one. I see no problem running these clutches in the 5 speed you just need a little mechanical sympathy on gear changes etc.

Hey all just a quick updated question,

Has anyone ever ran a Xtreme heavy duty clutch on a stock gear box?
Pros & cons?
They're personal opinions?

Many thanks :)

I run the competition clutch stage 2 with the lightened flywheel as a combo on a 5 speed . Very good combo no shudder very good feel but must have mechanical sympathy with the 5 speed matter what clutch you run .

Unless you like replacing boxes. If you can't drive with sympathy replace clutch and everything after it with6 speed
