With the amount of money you want to spend, you will hopefully will be able to get a discount package deal. Contact some of the vendors on here and ask what they can put together in your price range. That way it will all arrive at the same time and will save you money on shipping and you waiting around on different parts from different suppliers.

Nice, JR has very similar plans to myself (tho I will be doing it in approx. 2 years time) Will keep an eye on this thread in the mean time. Chassis mods (and a few cosmetic ones) will take preference until then.

My bad, with PW CAI, ID 1000cc injector and PSR's own inlet hose, prospeedracing is $700 cheaper than buying from rallysportdirect before talking about any discount. $3K all up, just need to find turbo and header.

I still couldn't find Blouch ball bearing turbo for GH wrx, only AVO make them, and its $2000 before shipping.

After doing some more reading it looks like the only thing that prevents them from being compatible with the 08+ wrx is the TMIC flange. With the process west setup you can use the old style hose to the turbo instead of direct flange to IC.

I'll confirm with somebody who knows for sure before I place any orders but I can't see why an '01-07 wrx' turbo won't work this way.

For that money.....

Sell it and buy an STI

More bend, more turbulence; longer pipe, more inertia. U will sacrifice response in theory.

Kinugawa turbo r good enough for what it cost u, and their sts turbine blade COULD make up the cons of journal bearing.

Look for an 08+ sti TMIC, equal preformance to the process west for half the price.

You may even have enough left over depending how well you get look after to consider a 6spd conversion to compliment the extra torque and power you gain.

JRecardo 08-08-2014 08:31 AM

Would have to change the manifold at least for that to work as the manifold and tmic mounting for an STi differs from a WRX when 08+. Negates all savings unfortunately

6 speed will definitely have to be in the pipeline at some point, but that's another story. The 5spd should be fine for a while so long as I look after it.

Tony 08-08-2014 08:58 AM

Ohhhh yeh. Forgot they have a different manifold
