Why cant we talk in evidence and engineering knowledge. Someone has to balance it out, I guess? using the Perth-WRX mobile app |

I guess this is my bad, but from what I research it is a good turbo for $1k, u get what u pay, bloutch bb turbo is better, but they just dont make the correct compressor housing for gh wrx. If u choose to use s shaped pipe to run it, u will lose some response. Thats just my opinion though. U r looking for advice, u get one. Dont correct my grammar if u find any. U know what I mean. using the Perth-WRX mobile app |
What about the vf series turbos? that's where I will be looking first when turbo upgrade time comes for the RS 40.
In Mao (& Gordan's) defence, he always placed an emphasis on reliability when helping me tune my old bugeye, which despite my best efforts I never managed to blow up :) |

I think ur vf52(490cfm) is already the biggest vf turbo out there. Unless u wanna twin scroll, but bloutch or kinugawa twin scroll r more cost effective. using the Perth-WRX mobile app |
Ok, I'm not really up to speed a twin scroll setup, I am of the understanding that piping in and out of the turbo has to be changed as a minimum tho.

Dump pipe has to be divorced, and uppipe has to inlets to turbo. Kinugawa has a kit for I think $1700 include turbo, dump and header/uppipe.
huggy - did you ever post a dyno chart of that 300 mark because I don't ever remember seeing one. Why not post your shopping/mods list in the thread for benefit of future users?
I would be very, very surprised if you get an 08 ej255 to hit 300 with a VF52. No-one can categorically outline any differences but I'm certain the 08 blocks are spuds. A couple of people over east over the years have run VF52's in their 08's and not gotten close to 300 and as we all know there are a lot of disney dynos over there. Just can't see it happening personally.
3" TBE EL headers Silicon intake AEM cold air 1000cc injectors PW TMIC there might be more but that's the guts of it. using the Perth-WRX mobile app
Just wondering, who told you that or where have you seen that a Blouch 1.5XT-R made for the 2008 GH with 8cm housing doesn't fit the 2008 GH when bought with the correct diameters. I really cannot find any info on that, info not loading. |

I really cannot find any info on that, info not loading.
He means the housing doesn't mate up to the default intercooler (and many aftermarker options) on the 2008 wrx. The only way around this is a FMIC or the process west setup. This is why when you see turbos list of support it will say 01-07wrx and 01-13 sti. |
