Default Coilover condition

I got a spare set of HSD adjustable coilovers in the purchase of my new STI last week. I was told they are perfectly fine but they were just too low and caused some rubbing so they slapped on a new set.

What do I check/test to make sure they are ok as I don't need them and want to sell them, and how much are they going for.
