08 WRX vacuum issue?
Hi guys, run into an issue with the wrx and looking for a little help.
Thursday night driving, went to go for a little pull through 3rd gear and it felt powerless, two minutes later and I had an extremely lumpy idle that was close to stalling. Checked the CEL code and it showed misfire on all cylinders. Found the line from the BOV to the intake manifold had come off and I reconnected that. Idle is okay now, and CEL is gone but I'm not getting full boost and get this "psh" of air as I step on the accelerator. I have taken the intercooler off and resat the hoses to the turbo etc but it hasn't helped. Any idea where I should be looking? The hose from the IC to the throttle body (I believe it's called) actually seems to almost collapse/shake when the "psh" sound happens but I have made sure it is properly connected. Any help is appreciated. Here's a video showing what's happening.

By pass valve failed? Oem bpv can't take more than 18psi. Do u have boost gauge?
using the Perth-WRX mobile app

No I don't have a boost gauge, might have to get a few gauges so I have something to go off of in the future. Car is tuned for 18.5 psi so bpv sounds possible. Is there any way to test it or identify a broken part in there?

I think bpv rely on vacumn/boost from manifold to hold it close. If ur vacumn line came off, tmin can constantly force bpv open, then destroy the spring. And bpv stuck open, cause engine running rich, hense misfiring. If so, u should be able to push the valve by ur finger. Boost, oil pressure gauge are essential for modded cars. Wideband afr might be helpful too. using the Perth-WRX mobile app

I went and saw Sean the other day about it, and he said that is normal when the throttle is applied like that and is nothing to worry about. He took the car for a drive and his opinion is that it is pulling fine, I've probably just adjusted to the power now and was paranoid after the vacuum issue.
Will grab one of those dongles.

Yeh those dongles are awesome. I had to use an app called engine link as i hadnt update my iphone for awhile. Its only good for looking at and clearing CEL's. I dont recommend it.

Got my dongle today. Plugged in fine and worked first time with my Nexus 5 using Torque.
Mucking around with dashboards and stuff. Obviously not great when driving as you don't want to be eyeballing a phone, but reads codes and stuff. Seems to be a reasonable amount of development put into the app too. You can set the gauges to record highest values etc, so in a race car you can check afterwards. Also the gauges can flash when over a certain value. Don't seem to have any audio/alarms though which would be alright, but there is a tiny bit of data lag from the ECU to the phone. Ideally you'd have it running on a tablet in the dash somewhere if you were serious to use the gauges and not just the CEL checker. Worth the app + dongle purchase though for some self diagnostics.
