I still haven't got around to buying a new Clutch for my 2001 WRX and was looking to just buy an Exedy Standard Spec Clutch as my car is a daily and only lightly modded.

Ive have been reading that ,with exedy Clutch Kits = some are made in Japan and some are made in OZ?, Im guessing if this is true.. the Aussie made items will be of lesser quality?.

Can anyone confirm any of this and if so how can you tell the difference between them

any help appreciated

A quick check on the Exedy website makes no mention of manufacturing in Australia, only distribution.

Exedy is or was OEM for Subaru, eg, they make Subaru's clutches, so they would be a safe bet for good day to day performance and reliability.
JUst make sure you get the right clutch kit, Exedy do a special clutch plate called a Wide Angle Damper clutch. You need different flywheel bolts or it doesn't fit. Best bet is to make sure you get a normal one, be specific about that
