My smoke problem was a stuffed rocker cover gasket for anyone's future ref..

ok most of time especially with the classic wrx's the halfmoons leak specially on the side of the turbo.. they are weak for some reason sometimes it could be the seals located on the bolts... the halfmoons are located on the rocker cover and it looks like a half moon and ussually the seal breaks there. it is pretty basic to replace

About $80(seal and bolts) in parts from memory thru speedworks

i think i have a similar problem but i dont have the smoke or smell till i get out the car i can smell it. smells like burning oil though. dose the turbo use the same oil as the engine?
