Default What psi are you guys running on stock internals?

Hi guys, I'm having my 11 wrx tuned shortly and just wanted to know what psi would be fairly safe on stock internals? Got TBE, PW intercooler, fuel pump, CAI and also the Grimmspeeed 3 port solenoid.

PSI is simply that pressure. It has a relationship to flow rate. Every turbo has a different flow, hence, pressure of one turbo versus another has no relation to the volume of air being forced into the cylinder.

Ask tuner for safe tune, he, his skills and turbo will determine when it knocks and what pressure is safe for stock internals.
Soksta and Slap Dash like this.

stock is 14.7 psi, MMS do 16 psi to maintain warranty with city subaru. most shop think 18 to 19 psi is safe, some head room for bad patch of fuel causing knocking. Im refering to VF48/52.

Currently I am running 20psi on my stock setup, except for TBE and ebc. No probs, but upgrading my TMIC and air box real soon though.

A big factor is also how you treat your car eg warm it up maintenance will also play a role in how long the car lasts

Reading is such a lost art ...

Again, the variables of turbos aren't easy to just give a 'insert PSI here' ...

Cams, head design, piston type, piston construction, type of TMIC, intake setup, resultant air charge temp, etc etc etc.

Once again the newest questioning members seem to be the ones giving answers.

I'm thinking of doing medicine ... Can I give my opinion on heart surgery?

Completely safe ... Remove turbo and run NA.

As I said in my first post the tuner decides but if you want numbers I am running 22-23psi on a stock Wrx 205 unopened motor my tuner was comfortable to put this much boost with all supporting mods. I do however am not afraid of blowing my motor up so we will keep putting the boost in till she dies or I get tired and replace motor with the new build currently in bits till assembled.
