Anything Dexron 3 should suit. Check to see if Subaru make an additive for their auto's. Many manufacturers do... And it can vastly improve longevity. Might pay to give Subaru a call.

Mitsubishi's can have an additive - we used to put it all in all the magna's/lancers/pajero's etc which used to come through the trans shop I used to work at back in the day.
Like i said, give the manufacturer (in this case Mitsu) a call, Make sure you speak to someone who knows what they are talking about - if you're not happy you got the truth, ring a decent transmission shop and they will set you straight. There are good aftermarket additives out there specifically designed for various boxes - speak to the gurus and they will help you.
