Hi all, new to the forums here but have been watching on from a distance for some time

Just a question for owners of cars with EJ20K engines in them and especially MY97 WRX's, I'm looking at swapping my current car for a 97' WRX with 240,000km on it. The car looks well maintained and looking under the hood presents no visible defects as well as driving it reveals nothing, but I am not a mechanical guru. Going to go get it pre inspected at STechnica where it had its big 220,000km service but just wondering if there are any common problems with these engines or cars? I've heard of people having problem due to the cars being turned for Japan's 100 octane fuel and coming down to Australia's 98 octane it started to knock? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey mate, your best bet would just be to ask the same questions to the guys at Stechnic, especially as they have serviced the car already they will know its history. Those guys are the gurus!
