Pffft. Horse power is an outdated unit of measure. Unicorn power is where its at now.

1 HP = 2.5 UP (at the wheels)

UP = Unicorn powers.

So, after a couple years away from a Subaru I may be getting back into one. Looking to get a pre-purchase mechanical inspection done and after some recommendations. Car is located in Currumbine so it would have to be up that a way...

Previously I've used Race Torque to do all the work when I had my 180SX and found them to be fantastic. Any other workshops I'm missing?

Just finished reading through the last few pages of this thread and especially the comments about ASG Car had an exhaust, IC, CAI and Verso tune installed by them...anything to be particularly worried about here? I'm no mechanic but I'm not totally clueless and the car seemed to be very well looked after, full service history and log book stamps etc.

Just take it to STechnic for a check up. If it checks out OK, buy
(and get them to service it too).

Aye STechnic looked after my previous STi and they are mint, if this works out they'll be looking after this one too!

Might be asking a bit much for them to drive from south geraldton to north mandurah just for an inspection tho...hence looking for something close to them!

It's a 2011 WRX Premium BTW if that makes a difference.

Well once again Race Torque have been very nice to deal with, slotted me in at short notice for a full going over of the car, including comp, leakdown and cooling test.

As I suspected will need some new tyres soonish. Slightly warn control arm bushes and alternator belt. Only thing I am slightly concerned about is the plugs are white indicating a lean fuel mixture. They suggested replace plugs and put on the dyno to check or might need a slight retune?

Thoughts or opinions to the usual address....

Anyone recommend a suspension repairer to rebuild KWv3 coilovers. My front left apppears to have blown its load all through the wheel arch.

Prefer NOR if possible.

Cheers
