You're going to call back tomorrow and ask the same question you asked today?

Essentially, yes.
I called in August (see below) to get an idea of pricing and there was no mention of them no longer supporting stock ECU so I'm just wanting to ensure that is in fact the case or if there's somehow been a misunderstanding.

For the record, its a GD WRX (MY05)

They've done you a favour mate.
If you want to stick with the stock Ecu go and see Jamie and the boys at Tokyo Motorsports.

Stock is fine for basic mods. Daz is saying Tokyo will be a better shop to take it to anyway. And really your only other option for stock ecu tuning without going with an ecutek tuner and paying for the software licence.

Yeah, I do recall him having an issue with ASG. I've booked in with Tokyo after stopping by their place when picking the car up from Stech. They seem nice enough however I didn't get to speak with Jamie as he was busy.

Is there a general consensus on open vs verso, or is it much of muchness?

Much of a muchness, it's the tuner that is the difference.

With ASG no longer doing open source tunes, Tokyo are going to get saturated with Subaru owners. I hope it doesn't become detrimental to the time Jamie spends on the cars...

I've just booked my car in to Tokyo as well. I was quite impressed with their workshop and presentations on the wrx club wa meeting they hosted and have been very approachable for questions and discussions regarding what I'm looking for.

Thanks gents, good to know my car is in good hands. Booked in for a tune on the 18/10 which I was told was the earliest -- Jamie seems to be quite the popular guy.

Hopefully I can get a few pieces sprayed between now and then by Big O followed by a nice detail courtesy of Oli.

Tokyo Motorsport, Maximum Motorsport and Race Torque all do ECUTek tunes, so quite a choice....so ASG not doing Verso anymore?
