Thread updated again, made little sections for each type of workshop, put them alphabetically to reduce any tears, added websites & contact details for a bunch of them, removed some small joints that probably no one takes their cars too.

Closed - I believe STechnic bought them out.

Leigh Hynes is still the W.A. agent for Link Electro system's. He still carries out installations and tuning, but he is in Busselton, I believe he will come up to Perth for tuning duties.

Leigh closed the doors at Carlisle at the end of March to concentrate on Bussleton Subaru Service. The company RMS continues to trade as B.S.S. S Technic didn't buy the name, just the 'goodwill' associated with the phone number, customer database, vehicle service history and some equipment. Front office man Dave Smith and senior mechanic Basilio Micale have relocated to S Technic.

Leigh is still servicing and repairing Subaru vehicles in and around Busselton with Andy MacDonald now working a mobile service in that area. B.S.S are distributors for DMS shocks, Link and Project Mu brakes. Leigh will be tuning cars as required in the Perth metro area a few days a month.

A mate was asking the other day if anyone has heard of CK Autos in Wangara ? I have never heard of it any feedback ?

Yeah CK Auto's is pretty good eh, i went there to get some quotes once and the Asian owner was very helpful and his prices are pretty competitive. He has all these newspaper articles up about all the awards he received for being a great 'Subaru Specialist'. Also saw a nice red my04 perth-wrx car when i was there to.

I used to use him for my car. Cant complain, good service, good price.

I take back what i said about ck autos lol.. gonna have a rant.

I went there today after a 2week wait to have my Grimmspeed upppipe installed, so i proceeded to show him the hole.. when i did he said oh that's no an uppipe! this is your uppipe=> points to the down pipe.. 'See it goes UP' i said ahh.. no i think this is the uppipe.. (after showing pics of it on this forum and people clearrly saying its an up-pipe.. plus the pipe i ordered... ah anyway

He proceeded to take me into the shop and show me a my01 engine, he looked at the proper Uppipe and i pulled out my grimmspeed one and showed him the label on the box and how it looks identical to the uppipe on the engine... anyway he said OH.. it wont fit!... then proceeded to say its a massive job because he has to remove the heatshield.................plus the bolts on the turbo are not going to come off apparently.. even though he hasn't even tried.. so he was like i cant give you the quoted price of $150...+ he needs the car for 2 days to install the pipe... when it's a 2hr or so job for a normal person with the included instructional video grimmspeed provides.

Sigh..i left there very doubtful and worried!.. but ill let you know how it turns out..

(If i do bring it down you can rip those defi gauge cables out if ya still want em)

hahaha..i feel kinda bad bcoz the teenage/younger guy who works there is really nice! But the older guy seems to take advantage of people..

I ended up getting back late on the 2nd day. I asked if he used new gaskets but apparently its not necessary? 'only when the head gasket blows?'.. well i herd different anyways, the car felt okay when i first got it, apart from a whole bunch of smoke coming out around the uppipe..?? then after driving it for a whileV (1hr approx here and there) the same 'whoosing/fluttering' sound came back and my boost got a lot weaker + i started getting some highish temps that caused my heater/aircon to malfunction, similar to when i had a hole but not quiet as bad... any ideas/suggestions?

I am very curious to where these guys put the Temp sensor from the original upppipe.. seeing as the grimmspeed one has no spot for it and the fact that i don't have a CEL if they removed it completely and i doubt they deleted the code if i did.

btw total price was $360.. 3x the amount quoted
and total time was 2 full days.. Twice as long as quoted
oh.. and still not fixed.

Gonna call em tomorrow and see what happens..
But Bottom line. Don't go to CK! :)

Just got my car back from Evolution-R and they have done a fantastic job! I recommend this workshop to anyone :)!

Is there any other places near Rocko that are cheaper than Sik Em Wrex? I just got quoted $1600 for my 100,000 major service...

Parents will make me take it to some shitty falcodore service joint otherwise... Driving up to Perth isn't really an option as I can't get transport back.

Just got a quote back from Race Torque for $1000. Apparently they only charge more if other shit needs replacing (tensioners, rotors, brake pads etc). SeW must have quoted the service plus EVERYTHING being replaced by the look of it which is good to know.
Otherwise I'm getting made to have some call out guy come to my house, do a standard $1000 service, put home brand oil in my car and leave.

Gotta love having 'rents who know nothing about cars.

Stechnic - Next to the train line. Easy to get home to Rocko I imagine.

Jim Hall - Bluestar - Mobile Subaru service specialist.

Pick whichever one works out the best for you. I personally use Stechnic as they are great blokes too.

Sent an e-mail to Stechnic :) Thought that was in Malaga for some reason :S That's a hell of a lot easier.

Is Jim Hall expensive? Or have an e-mail? I would call to get a quote but I'm too sick at the moment coughing constantly (fun to hear on the phone).

Tim at Sik ems has always done right by us (03 STi and 00 CSE4) I have heard a shit load more than that for a 100,000k service. At least he tells the truth....

anyone had a tune done at Intune Performance in Bibra lake area?? any comparisons to ASG in terms of performance pricing etc?

Does anyone know where ultrex performance in oconnor is? Can't find address any where??

anyone know of a haltek e11 tuner, as i moved from the east and am now looking for a good workshop, as i have spoken to a Work Shop in mandura and he does road tuning which i am not a fan of and he doesnt usually play with haltek ecu's

Just wanted to give a quick shout out for Race Torque Engineering in Wangara.:icon_thum I had my STI serviced there this morning and they were very friendly and accommodating. They even indulged me by taking off the wheels and letting me use their wash down bay to clean them inside & out while they had her up on the hoist doing the service. Not only was the service (12,500kms/6months) more thorough than what is offered at the stealership, but it was 2/3 the cost too! Happy days :)
