Hi Maddog,

I had Michael Collins from Scorpion Subaru in Brisbane, Qld build it. My 98 has a 2.5L with AVO400L etc etc and puts out around 235kw atw. This car was for track use mainly and I planned on running all the features of the Motec M800 so figured build a strong box.

As my plans have recently changed the car might be up for sale. If you happen to know someone after a similar box, shoot me a pm as I may be interested in selling. Gearbox can come with Sti front LSD also and has done max 50km's (driven from workshop to home and parked).

Cheers,
Shane

Epic rebirth of the thread.

Last I heard was that Graham Furness had an Alvin Ibans box with a nice genuine sti 1.5 way front diff sitting in at Maximums. It was from his GC8 and as he now has a my05 sti he does not need it.

If you want a new one PPG 1-4 will set you back about $4.5 - 5.5k +/- a front diff.

My understanding is that the albins are priced rather similar.

Hope this helps

Brendon

Update:

My Ivan Albins is still going strong several years later now with about 256kw atfw or 215 atw. It has never missed a beat. IA gearsets have 1-5 strengthened where others only upgrade 1-4 for the same price.

I highly recommend Flood Motorsports/Tony Flood for all your G Box and mechanical needs.

PPG are very wide gears and arguably stronger than necessary hence why you can only upgrade 4.

What's it cost to Kryo a gear set and what's the benefits?
