Time to get an Ivan Albins Gearset
Guys and Girls
After more than 400 tyre smoking launches on my standard MY99 gearbox second gear finally let go...  Not a bad run out of a so called weak 5MT

Found second gear
Had a bit of a look for all those teeth off second gear and I think they are....
 oh well its time to visit Tony Flood for some serious Gear box lovin

I love your launch it/thrash it till it snaps testing methods. BTW is Ivan a hard nose/vodka drinking/ tree trunk of a man, and who's his mate Albin ? More info pls before I Polish of the rest of this Stolly.....  J

Geez that was quick...
Been weighing up the options for a few years now and imho its no contest...Ivan Albins 1-5 Helical stregthened gear set.
More than strong enough, negligible noise difference from standard, custom ratios, add in Tony Floods expert assembly, its all good and completed in next to no time. Tested it last round at MC's with 4th placing in the wet, drifting those new ratios was just sheer joy in the wet   Keep your 6 speeds, mines 37kg lighter and just as strong and now even faster

Tony Flood has supplied and recommended these sets for a long time. You have a few standard ratio options or order a full custom setup: Sport 3, 2, 1.48, 1.17, 0.963 Street 3.45, 1.94, 1.36, 0.96, 0.76 Sport/Street 3, 2, 1.48, 1.17, 0.76 These helical gears are much wider/ hence stronger than original and the quality is first class. Discuss pricing with Tony as the options are many and varied. Personally I was not interested in a noisy square cut gear set. Nor was I interested in a radical 6 speed upgrade with its weight penalty. pm sent on my costs.
