Thumbs up 2 Pot Rear Calipers (MY01+) on to Classic WRX's (possible Group conversion)

Gday.
I've been doing some research into brake upgrades lately. The fitting of MY01+ 2 pots to the replace the sliding 1 pots of the Classic WRX's.

This will help with the rear end squirm us Classic drivers experience under hard braking when the rears do sweet bugger all work.

Now PMH has asked this question before here:
http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/showthre...=rear+calipers

Now I'm not sure what the price of MY01+ backing plates are these days but this is a more elegant solution that can be made locally and quite possibly cheaply.

Anyone up for a group fabrication project ?
Care to nominate a cost effective fabrication shop to get these brackets made ?

J

Looks good. If we can get the template for the adapter, that will make fab easier.

Won't be worth doing this, unless you get a few (like 15-20) made.

Not many ppl with 01 onwards are changing their rears out nowadays, so its getting harder to source them unless you bring them in from japan

Yes I agree, would have to be 15-20.

But its a damn sight cheaper than trying to source rear Brembo's and stuff around doing the rear R180 conversion using diffs, driveshafts.

After a bit more investigation it looks like another group buy is in progress.

Looks like I might be the guinea pig and then get em fabbed locally.

From subaru?
Rotors, calipers, with back plates, you're looking at around $2500

This is what we want:

Group buy with no stuffing around. If anyone finds a site cheaper or a supplier you have used before, post it up.
