This noise has just started not sure if any of you can shed some light on it.

Its a metally rattling noise that only happens on decelleration/cruising and only when the engine is over 4000rpm. CANT HEAR IT AT ALL WHEN ACCELLERATING. If it was something loose it would be a bit more constant.

its resonance, most probably coming from the up-pipe heat shield or headers heat shield.
I had it for some time too, its gone now though.

Hmm..I had a rattling noise a little while ago, it only happend when i accelerated/deccelerated at the same rpm you mentioned.
It was a heat shield (thin, thin piece of metal) below the cat. The welds had broken. I just ripped it off. All good now.

I saw his engine last night there no heat shield,Zorst maybe????

I had the exact same problem however mine was not the heat shield. Mine was the flange that bolts the dump pipe to the gearbox, the bolt had come loose. Quick twist with the ring spanner and job done. Make shure you do it before you drive it, not after as I did. Hot exhaust and short sleve shirts dont go...
