Take it out, squirt the living shit out of it with upper engine cleaner, let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes. Clean the excess upper engine cleaner off, and then re-fit the IACV

could be the throttlebody too. thats what it was with mine.

Just disconnected the AFM while the car was idling rough, all of a sudden it smoothed out......

Excellent diagnosis guys.

Will try cleaning it out at work on monday, might be as simple as a bit of crap on it.

Otherwise if anyone has a spare one lying around in working order let me know and if I need a new one i'll buy it off you.

Throttle control sensor!
Had the same problem myself not so long ago took the car to Dave at Tenagah Motorsports
U4 / 12 Buckingham Drive Wangara WA (08) 94080600
He done a great job $150

Ok, so i've got the AFM out of the car, cleaned it (looked ok). Does anyone know how to test the resistance and what it should read with the AFM out of the car.

It is a MY00 GC8 4 pin with space for a 5th pin.

I will test/setup the TPS with a global scan tomorrow.

cleaned AFM
Adjusted TPS
Reset ECU

Puuuuurrrrrrrs like a kitten.
