Default Huge Lag problem

Hey i have a 97 wrx auto and when i take off from standing still i get about 2 seconds lag until the turbo kicks in. This is really annoying. I dont know whether its normal or not.

I am running 14 psi

Any help or recommendations would be great thanks guys

not sure if it's a trick question or not, but based on the possibility that the q is genuine...

my stock turbo on a '99 needs 2400 rpm or thereabouts before turbo spools up and boost comes on. It's at full boost around 3000+. Don't imagine it's much different for a '97. That's how turbos work.

If i take off in first seems the fun starts pretty much straight away but in drive it feels really laggy

As far as i know i am running the stock turbo, i cant be sure. I find the lag is just a little longer than i thought it would. A shitty 4 cyl beat me off the line, it kicks in 20 metres later.

Also running the top mount

I am looking for solutions to this problem, cost isnt a real issue, and explanations of how these solutions work.
