Default What Is A Safe Boost

As the title suggest's, whats a safe boost for a 2004 WRX. I have read numerous posts when people are selling thier cars, "that it has never been over boosted".

What is Over Boosted?

What is a safe Boost?

The tuner at MMS set mine at lets say 17 psi (because every time I went there to check up on things it keep giving me differant numbers)

Could I comfortably go up to 20 psi with a VF34 bolt on????

With a 34 I'm running 19psi every day (spikes to 21psi briefly) with no dramas whatsoever. As long as your AFR's are perfect you shouldn't have any probs running around 20psi on your car with a 34... Might want to consider upgrades to TMIC, fuel pump, exhaust, intake though if you want to get the best out of that turbo...

cheers

Brett

Yep running a VF34 with the exhaust, fuel pump and getting a bigger TMIC soon, is it just the tuner who is being cautious here with keeping it at 17 psi

i have a vf22 plan on running it at 18psi - with aps tmic zorst intake

its cautious - but hey you always want "MORE" its the whole point of the safe tune though is being safe.... im sure i could do a lot more psi but then its going from safe to not so safe - especially if the cars done some ks, stuff might break.

safe boost is only as good as the tuner.
