are 98 99 and 2000 wrx ecu the same.Im taking my motec out off my my99 and putting the standand ecu back in,i was wondering if it would matter if it was out off a 2000 wrx??are the sockets the same???

Im not to sure but i think that the 99/00 one will fit without no troubles.

But i have heard that the 99 has a more aggresive tune than the 00 not sure how true it is though

99/00 are interchangeable. 98 isnt.

The 99/00 plugs are the same if thats what you mean... But the tune is different for each model year

Definately right. Talk to Matt Munday (number plate mm wrx). He had / has a WR Blue MY00 and changed to the MY99 ecu and from memory it was good for something like .3 secs down the chute.

the ecu's between 99/00 will fit, but the 99 ecu has a more aggressive tune.

you will need to also check the compatibility with the immobiliser unit and key ring.

the 98 ecu will not fit.

build dec 98 would be an MY99 anyway

more than likely a 99. one of the early 99's that came out late 98.
