Question Limp Mode

howdy, was just wondering, if and when your car ends up running in limp mode, how long can you drive the car that way? id say by being in limp mode you wont do any damage cause thats the point of it but i have a feeling mine may be in limp mode and its been this way for a couple of months now. ive only had the car that long and am unsure what the previous owner may/may not have done. the reason why im asking is it only runs 9psi ( max 10psi but rarely ) and it surges when driving at 60-70kph, above that it smooths out. we've posted questions asking what could be wrong with it and have checked a few things but it still hasnt been sorted. i dont have the money at the moment to get an ecu retune but am trying to save for one. anyone any ideas or should i just wait till i can get it checked and tuned properly?

cheers chris

get it diagnosed and fixed ASAP..

Limp mode is your cars way of telling you its broken...

You wouldnt walk with a limp on a broken leg would you? NO... you go to the hospital and get it fixed...

Take your car to the engine doctor...

Surging and limp mode seems to suggest a fuel supply problem... possibly one of your injectors is on its way out.... Check the fuel filter also...

You could take it down to your mechanic and get him to log on to the ECU to find out what CELS its throwing up.
That wouldn't be to costly and you'd know what your saving for.
