Angry Breathing problem?

Was driving home from Boddington yesterday when my car started spluttering. Plenty of fuel in the tank but the car refused to rev past 3000-4000rpm. I took apart the airbox, filter was still clean & everything else is in good working order. Can anybody tell me what else too check? Its a 99 model, 3 inch pipe from turbo back, STI comp, Apexi panel filter. I'm thinking maybe a split on the vacuum hose, but where do i look.

if it only happens when comming on load, then check your map sensor connector/tubes or the tubes on the pressure sources sensor, failing that, fuel filter/pump as brad suggested

3 months old. Air flow meter was recently cleaned when i changed the fuel pump. New plugs, leads, air/fuel/oil filter all new. 100,000km service wasn't long ago.
