Default MY99 o2 sensor

Where can I get a O2 sensor for an MY99 ?

Subaru want $360 bucks and I am sure I can
do better than that. Having a go at putting
3" TBE on over the weekend and want a spare in case.

Cheers

Thanks Simon. Just tried them, none available. Dang.

I will be having a go a taking the one off my current system to use on the new
one. I was going to use CRC to try and losen it up if stuck but have heard
they can be sensitive to things like that. Any advice for trying to get the
old one out ?

oooo ouch, i wudnt have the foggiest idea mate, one of my friends tried removing it last year himself and even though he was very careful when removing it he ended up breaking it.

Dunno if there are generic 02 sensors available? try sumwhere like Ian Diffan or Midas maybe?

Coventrys have a universal 3 wire job to match an EJ205. Having not actually
pulled the old one out yet does anyone know if they are actually 3 wires ?

Anyone ever used a universal one ? Would it mean I have to reset my ECU once
I put it in ?

just replaced mine in my 97 and i bought a generic one ( denso brand, part # ox203 ) off repco for $100 ( trade price ). mine had the three wires and i used the old plug on the new sensor.
in regards to your ecu, not sure if its the same as the earlier rex's but i just disconnected my battery ( left it off for about an hour cause i did my plugs aswell ) when i was doing it and i had no problems when i reconnected / restarted the car, all sweet.

Wouldnt think u'd have to change the ecu, the aftermarket one is designed to replace the factory one

Subaru wanted about $360 for one, however I found one
for $135 at Automotive Service Solutions. Link on this sit.

http://www.petroject.com.au/contact.html

Repco said the MY99 part was different to the MY97. Don't know
how true that is.

Anyway... Looks like this... Apparently its a bosch part. Best of all it already
has the connector. No soldering.

Thanks for all the input. Much appreciated. I plan on taking heaps
of pics and putting together a sort of DIY for first timers looking to
replace their zorst. I just hope nothing goes wrong, and hope this
o2 sensor fits/works if the stock one dies.

Got the o2 sensor, gasket, jack stands... Wish me luck !
