Default MY04 motor into a MY99 body

hey guys!

as you might know my motor is dead!
BUT i might have a MY04 EJ205 i can put in to replace it.
how hard would it be to swap them out?? , is there any problem i might
find when i do it? , also i will be puting in a Power FC to fix the last problem of running a VF34 on a standard ecu witch turns out was a big no no.

let me know guys!

If u plan on keeping you car for a while and want to push some nice figure, spend that little extra and get an ej207.

I'm probably gonna help out with the engine swap....
Don't you need to delete AVCS for this aswell? Know if the standard MY99 cam wheels and everything will fit the new 2004 motor?

My 2 cents.....
Do it correctly: EJ207 (blueprinted from factory) bottom end. Regents Subaru will get one in for ya cheap.
Use existing high flowing MY99 Heads and manifold.
Then Power FC it.

or

Assuming the MY04 motor is cheap, do as Tuna suggested then do it correctly and get a M800 OEM to run AVCS.

ive been told from a few sources now that putting a US STi EJ25 and stroking it out to 2.71L is a good move for a power-hungry GC8 - of course this would be coupled to a new-spec 6-sp gearbox :P

any opinions? :P overkill or what?
