Do you know if it has high level inputs?
If it doesn't any particular brand I should get for the speaker line to RCA adaptor?

Hi AJ,
There is a couple of different ways to integrate an amp to a factory head unit.
First way is using the high level inputs on the amp, but this depends on what amp your using as not all amplifiers have this feature.
Alernatively, you can use a speaker line to RCA adaptor, there are varying quality versions of these available.
Or the other popular method is to use a processor that is designed for integration into factory headunits, examples of these are Audison Bit-ones, JBL MS8's etc.
As for remote turn on, this again depends on what way you are deriving a signal, some amps have a signal sense feature, or you will have to use an accessories wire, which will mean the amp will stay on with the key regardless of the headunit being on or off.
Some of the signal processors will have a signal sense (smart on) which will then create a remote out for any amplifiers.
Hope this helps.

Hi Macey,
I know this is out of left field but thought I would give it a go.
I know you don't do car installations anymore but was wondering if I could get some advice?
I am going to install an amp to run my component speakers and rear speakers. The problem I have is that I need to keep the stock head unit because the current car I have, changing the headunit is impossible. The car is a 2004 Nissan Maxima. Was wondering what is the best way of installing the amp from the headunit since there are no rca's on the stock headunit and where would I connect the remote wire (again nothing from the headunit)?
If you could help out that would be great.
Thank you in advance.
AJ
