The motor I've got ready to go in somehow has later model cam wheels with only the 3(?) little tabs for the ecu cam timing.

So i've gotta get some new wheels, but all the pictures that i look at, the wheels don't have any tabs at all. Does this mean that with an aftermarket ECU you don't actually need the tabs?

I'll be running a PnP m800 for a MY00.

you still need the tabs, you should be able to map and set what type of cam wheels you have, or get your tuner to do it.
