Default How to activate launch control/antilag

Guys i have this apparently activated on my MoTeC pump fuel map.

But what is the procedure to get it working? i.e do u have to have the handbrake up then hold down accelerator??

im wanting to start using this for starts at sprint events etc and want to trial it out next sat at speed dome..

depends on the triggers captured in the motec.

sean will be able to tell you.

Well we just copied over the 109 settings to the pump fuel.. When we tried it out i think sean just had his foot on the brake then held the accelerator at certain rpms. the higher the rpm the more boost was made.

But i cant seem to do that now..

it depends on what triggers sean has set on the motec

there is no special "left-left-uppercut-punch" to turning it on, usually its a fog light switch, redemister switch or another custom switch to turn it on.

Sometimes it's as simple as when the speed signal is zero the revlimit will be lower than usual. Or if the clutch is in it will be lower. If you hold it flat to the floor while stationary does it go straight to the normal limiter or a lower limiter?

^^^ Thats how mine is set up. Car needs to be stationary, nail the throttle to the firewall, revlimit is set to target (say 4500rpm) and then once you get moving it returns to its normal revlimit.

I havent bothered with antilag, I just use the reduced rev limit in the launch control settings. Will build boost fine without the punishment of antilag. Very easy to set up. Literally just a case of have the approriate value in the launch control settings.

The only drama with that setup is that for a very minor performace increase you do compromise reliability somewhat in an endurance type event. If you lose speed signal for whatever reason you're limited to 4500 until you can rectify the problem. Can you easliy override it in that situation Blaise?

^^^^ Hmmm, had never thought of that Doug..... I have a mini lap top in the glove box. The missus might be challenged to sort it on the fly during a stage but we could do it during transport between stages.

Good thing the evo is responsive....Could still get along OK with epic short shifts at 4500

Tino,

just had a look through the MoTeC software. To set the launch limit connect your lappie, open the motec software and open the ecu, then:

ADJUST (DROP MENU) > FUNCTIONS > TRACTION CONTROL > LAUNCH RPM LIMIT > Type in your proposed launch limit in the 0.0 ground speed cell. The remaining cells should be your normal rev limit.

Close and save. then start the car, pin the throttle to the firewall and see what happens

Interesting thanks guys will have a look. When Sean setup it up on race tune. It was progressive I.e as you built revs the more boost it made..

Stave there was no switch that I can see he triggered.,

I'll have a look what you said Blaise.

But I'll prolly go see Sean and get it Sussed 2bar epic launches here we come
