Slm
Does anyone know if the SLM can be used as a standalone? i.e rewired to be used as shift lights only or does it need to be connected to a SDL??
Or does the SDL need to be connected to a MoTeC ECU??

You can run the SLM with a Motec ECU. I don't think it is able to run by itself.

I had the SLM as shift lights only on my old MY05. No SDL. Need a motec ecu to drive it though.
SDL can be wired minus motec ecu into a canbus car. I've seen pics of one in a Evo X with 'supposed' stock ecu.

ah yeh thats what i thought...
So an SDL and SLM will work together without using the MoTeC ECU this could work...

Yes. You just connect the sensors directly to the SDL instead of going through the ECU.
Then just use the SDL software to set it all up.
