Valentine 1 Group Buy 2.0
Hey guys, as per the last GB thread, i am willing to organize another one if there is genuine interest...
I am hoping that we can get them for the same price, but I will be in contact with RDA to confirm this. hopefully looking at $475 per unit, and I will place the order ASAP, money transfer and payment will be disclosed when all is confirmed. I will be also limiting this GB to 10 people, so please express interest below or via PM :) (from the first GB) Some members have shown interest in getting radar detectors, the general consensus being the V1 unit is the best option. I have contacted Radar Detectors Australia, a reputable online company who sell the V1 unit for $539. If we get 5+ members to commit to purchasing a unit, they can do $475 per unit, including shipping to one location. For further info on the V1 unit: Buy Valentine One - V1 - Radar Detector online Express interest below. 1. As a reminder to all new owners - hang it high on the windscreen. That position provides the best Poliscan alert distance forwards and lets you know when you past one in a reverse set up. |
Speaking of rear facing, and sorry to highjack. Has anyone (Andrew) noticed that the rear alert on the Karrinyup Road fixed camera on the freeway doesn't go off anymore. Or is it just me?
Was wondering whether they've switched it off or not? |
Ill get in on this one.

List updated guys, only 2 more spots to fill...
I received a reply from RDA; they can offer the same price - $475 per unit, and will ship in 2 batches, to avoid charges and import taxes (2x 5 units) PLEASE NOTE: the shipments will be 4 days apart, so when they have all arrived, they are available for pick up or I might be able to drop them off. As I would like to get the GB done as smoothly as possible, I will send out a PM tomorrow to get contact info and to update on bank transfers, I am looking at a deadline of Thursday the 15th of June, to process the order, send the first batch Friday and the next on Monday/Tuesday. with the postage, the pickup will be most likely the weekend 23rd/24th or early that week starting the 25th.... if anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me on 0403 980 825, or PM. Cheers :) |
2 spots are now filled, PM will be sent this morning,
confirmed with RDA and I will provide banking details in the PM. The cut off date (I am trying to tie into my FIFO roster) is Wednesday the 13th of June, this allows 2 days to order the units, and the first 5 will arrive by Friday the 22nd. Cheers guys :) |
Brett, any chance I can slot in an extra Valentine 1 for my order, making that 2 in total for me?
|
I'm sure that won't be a problem, I will check with RDA this afternoon and get back to you ASAP :)

Programming V1

You'll want to turn off both X & K bands in the city as they aren't used. You could turn off Ka as well but I believe there is still the odd Multinova being used in the country areas. Turn K band back on during country drives to account for road patrol cars. Run A mode as L & l modes effect X band only. |
Thankyou :) ^^
anyone looking for a video tutorial; Part 1 and 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEBWWEnR5js http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9f78p2lb_w&feature=channel&list=UL http://www.1stradardetectors.com/radar-detectors/valentine-one/installation.php |
Woohooo.. excited :D
Thanks again Brett, appreciate it :D |
No problem, we just have to play the waiting game now...
:D |
Anybody want a vertical mount; (doesn't do much, may reduce false alarms)

I wouldn't have thought vertical mount would matter since all the cameras are now laser/lidar whatever acronym you choose ;)
|
Point taken.....
disregard previous post  |
Are you going to get slugged duty tax at Customs?
|
I thought these were coming through Radar Detectors Australia.. meaning that they're importing them?
Last GB was this price, and there was no issues with duty, so shouldn't be a prob this time. |
As above Kym,
no tax or charges, they separate the parcels 4 days apart :) |
Getting excited.. any day now! :D
|
Come onnnnn wheres my shiny!
