Worlds First Hard Disk Drive
Below is the worlds first HDD released in 1956 by IBM. It is the 305 RAMAC. The HDD weighed over a tonne and stored 5MB of data.

Are they saying that the 1985 hard drive was $40,000 in 1985 or did some stupid collector buy it for that much in 2006?

Maybe it's in $HK? Or another nation's dollar which has much less value compared to ours? I just can't see either of those drives costing anywhere near the prices mentioned in Aussie terms. |
