hey mate, just thought id let u know if you dont know already, if u hav illegal tint and u have an accident u WON'T be covered. it really isn't worth it. i got darkest street legal and it is dark enough. yeh it looks cool but that darkest street legal still does the job.
man, even if it isn't ur fault, some guy just hits u..... it would really suck.
ofcourse this applie to most illegal mods, but tint is an easy pick for insurance companies

According to a member of this Forum, who happens to work for my insurance company, in his time working for insurance he has never seen a claim knocked back for having illegal tint.

I dont see how my dark tint could be a factor for me crashing into a car infront of me, considering I am looking out the front window, which has no tint on it at all, I can understand maybe if you reversed over a small child at night with dark tint, while ur looking out the back window, possibly... but if you can't see out of your tint then ur an idiot.

Also, insurance company can not pay a claim if ur windscreen is dirty...

thats wot the cop said to me "wont be covered with this tint" then gave me a yellow now ive got a fcukin fishbowl..but at the end of the day it IS illegal for wot ever reason, so it had to come off

if u have illegal mods expect to get a sticker, ive had 2 i 6 years, not bad really since i drive it every day so just harden the fark up or dont mod illegally

my 2 cents

you are right to a certain extent but when you are entering a road and u have to look left or right to see coming traffic then.... in my corolla i had limo tine (20%) and at night i could barely see out of it in these situations... insurance companies will pick on anything if they r put under pressure and as i mentioned earlier, tint is a easy loop whole for them

I have 5% on my wrx and 18% on my 2 Libs. No probs with night time driving. Having sunnies on makes it a little bit dark to see out side window

As far as Legal, tint is the least of my worries
