Bloody inbreeding northerner's!
LOL classic. Being a southerner, im gonna suggest you hit up the Amalfi coast and see Positano and Capri. One of the most beautiful roads you'll drive across to get to a very beautiful place. If you're with te Mrs and got some serious cash to spare, Hotel Le Sirenuse: http://www.sirenuse.it/Eng/Home.asp. Otherwise, head to La Spezia, although May is a bit early for this place. It usually takes off in summer when everyone is on holiday. If the above fails, Venice +1 :) While you're nearby, check out an opera in Verona maybe and go to a small nearby city called Sirmione. The entrace to the town is through an old set of castle gates, all pretty cool :) |
I think all of Italy was great but thought that Florence was overated and enjoyed the sights in Rome far more.

Venice stinks and absolutely nothing happens there at night. Rome is great. Never been but always wanted to go to sicily. Might be a bit stereotypical but the mafia FTW
