Valentines are very good, but not worth the asking price imo, An X50 or Bel RX65 will suit you just fine.
plus 2000000000 on Jez, he has hooked to of my mates up recently with X50, great service and price, btw order the smartcord hardwire kit and vertical bracket mount as well.

Given the fact we are seeing 24hr speed cameras on the road now, with another 20 odd gone into circulation, i'm beginning to think that a radar detector probably isn't a bad idea.

I am running out of power options in my car. GPS, IPod .. and a radar detector all compete for that valuable ciggy lighter socket. Are these new radars which have alledgedly come out today laser?

Radar detectors are very expensive ..

What are these new cameras? Any links to news stories?

Get the hardwire kit Rich, don't have to worry about the dangling cable either. Cheap option for bels / escorts and standard with the V1.

Expensive yes but fines are ridiculous now, it's not worth losing your license, nor having your eyes on the side of the road the whole time. Worth the money especially with rex, a few seconds under boost and say goodbye to your license!

Fair enough, still though imo an extra $150 for pretty much double the performance cant be too bad.

If you search threads here you will find that the X50 8500 outperforms their 9500 and others for alerting you to multinovas used in WA. Field tests have been done here comparing them. Yes V1 maybe better for lasers and pop bands but really once they get you are too late anyway. Vertical mount is the key for multinovas.
