Not good at all.

Obviously all the current methods of reducing the road toll are working wonders...

The mentallity "it'll never happen to me" has come back to bite many people in the ass.

People need to realise they are not invisible and even less so, their actions.

Sad thing is not only do they do harm to themselves but innocent passengers or other road users.

I love this comment

Mmm shame they can't create 'fatigue cameras' to further bolster their bulging coffers. Driver training and better road conditions are what is really necessary on WA roads. The signage situation is poor as well as blocked views from badly placed foliage that hinder sight. Perhaps instead of concentrating on people doing 5kmh over the limit, they should drive the roads and see why and how these bottlenecks happen. Slip roads that are too short, blind corners and constantly changing speed limits are my top 3 things that need looking at.

i drove past the kingsley smash about 20min after it happened, heaps of cop cars and firetrucks but the absence of an ambulence made it quite obvious the driver didn't make it, definately left a sick feeling in my stomach, i was quite relieved when i just read in that article that the fuckwit had actually car-jacked the silver toyota and went on a rampage (including stabbing himself) before driving the car into a tree, i swear you couldn't have picked a bigger tree and there was nothing identifiable of the car infront of the rear doors!

Im not really suprised by any of the accidents..

WA for a long time has slipped in its driver training, despite trying to make it better by letting l platers drive from the day they turn 16, and forcing them to do more training, it doesn't account for some of the simple things which will actually save a life

and thats training them to handle an emergency situation, put them on a skid pan, and force them into situations where you need to react to save yourself, or die, simple as that, if they actually made people do these courses, we'd see the road toll signifigantly lower, and better trained drivers, theres countless accidents i can think of where a bit of advanced training would have prevented the accidents ever happening..

saddly, fatiuige is one thing you can't stop people suffering, but they should be smart enough to pick it and stop and take ten to sort themselves out..
