I got fined 350 and 10 demerits over the last long weekend.
Once i pay the fine i will have 0 left....
Ive been told i should just let the fine go over the allowed 28 day peroid to pay it...in which case they will send me a final notice for 350 bucks plus some small fee ($12?) eventually.....
And because the system is so congested with fines etc it could take months for them to actually catch up with me. I was told 3-6 months?

In that time i think i might get a demerit or two back saving my ass.
Mostly i want to avoid losing my lisense as it fucks my insurance over.
(21 yrs old, only ever lost 2 points...i was doing ok)

Is this information accurate or will they shaft me for not paying my fine and il get myself in even hotter water?

If you want to draw it out longer take it to court and just plead guilty you will get the same fine plus about $100ish in court costs, this could delay you paying the fine upto 6 months.

nah ur right, there is about a 6 month delay. Just don't pay the fine until the next notice comes, with the $12 late fee, and ur sweet.

Dude sounds like you were lucky not to be arrested. Was it a multinova? yeah they back logged to shit, but they hired more people so don't expect that to last long. By the sounds of it you were lucky you weren't arrested and charged with all sorts of shit (are these hoon laws beginning to make sense?). Even if you get a point or 2 back, then you have to wait 3 years to get another 10 back, which means you get caught again and bye-bye PRIVELAGE of driving. Depends on your situation. If you can handle 3 months of bus n train action, pay it. If not, let it go and see.

10 demerits on a long weekend isnt that bad, means he was fined 5 and it was doubled thanks to DD weekends...

a 5 demerit fine is easily aquired.

Cops clocked me at 145 in 110 zone....Brand highway. Even though im sure i was sitting on about 130 MAYBE 135.... Pulled me over and handed me the fine on the spot. Sympathy factor nil.

Now i have a radar detector. Not because i want to speed. But because i sure as hell dont trust the pigs tech now.

Before that weekend i had lost 2 points in 3 years of daily driving...As far as I am concerned thats a good record. Probably better than most.

Although its gonna be a piss off to drive around for 3 years with only 2 points im sure i can manage it....Ive done it before.

Worst case senario i get pinged again in the future and do end up losing it.

I have lost my licence before for over using the throttle and copped a 8 pointer on easter weekend 3 years ago, in a fucking hyundai excel. I used to work in Eneabba and currently in Cataby so you know i know the Brand. I was doing 141 in a 110 dropped back to 139 for whatever reason by the fuzz who got me. I had just passed 2 B-doubles in a row and seconds prior was well over the old ton. Funnily enough i was about 21 like yourself, so don't worry, i have nothing but empathy for your situation. Just saying it sounded like they could have really rolled on ya heavy with this new policy.

10 Demerits is easy! Excess .05 is 5 (I think) so on double demerits thats 10.

I have 2 speeding fines on their way, been 4-5 weeks so far.
